Students can take part in the RSCM course, where they immerse themselves in an overseas location to create collateral for a partner organisation’s advocacy needs.
The first part of the course consists of lectures about key issues in public communication and the development of communication collaterals. Students will also have sessions with representatives from the host agency and prospective partner organisations.
The second part takes place overseas, where students conduct fieldwork in the host community with the support of the host agency. Students interview and observe members of the host community as part of their formative research in developing the collaterals.
The third part involves a series of workshops during which the students produce their collaterals. It ends with the presentation of the collateral before a panel made up of course lecturers, representatives from the host agency and prospective partner organisations.
