 Go Overseas For Advanced Reporting

Going Overseas For Advanced Reporting (Go-Far) is a hands-on course in advanced journalism reporting that immerses students in the challenges of operating in another country and culture. Students prepare for their fieldwork by attending seminars and conducting independent research into the chosen location, then brain-storming for and pitching story ideas to lecturers while organising logistics of the trip. In 2019, a team of students embarked on a trip to Okinawa to learn more about the island’s charms and secrets to longevity, chasing stories from seawalls to war tourism. Their work were then put together and showcased to the public through a book launch and photo exhibition titled Go-Far 2019: Deep Dive Okinawa.
