Research, Teaching & Professional Experience

  • Chrystal earned her Bachelor degree in Communication Studies at WKWSCI in Singapore and undertook public relations research for her final year project.
  • After graduating with a B.Comms in 2014, she had worked with the Singapore International Film Festival in 2014 as the Youth Jury Facilitator and The Filmic Eye for the distribution of Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above.
  • Currently, she is pursuing a Master in Communication Studies under the supervision of Dr. Liew Kai Khiun.
  • Her research interests includes film studies, popular culture and film festival studies with an emphasis on East Asian and Southeast Asia. Her current research topic is on SEA and East Asian film festivals as well as filmmakers in the region.
