Katrina is a PhD student in communication studies under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Vivian Hsueh-hua Chen. Her research interests include online multiplayer game diasporas and how digital game mechanics and design facilitate various player experiences. She would like to know why we keep loving the games we do, even long after they’re gone.
She received her Master of Mass Communication degree from NTU in 2015 and her Bachelor of Arts (Major in Communication) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2008.
Prior to her graduate studies, she was a sub-editor at BusinessWorld, a daily nationally circulated broadsheet in the Philippines. She handled front-page infographics and the World News, Agribusiness, Property & Infrastructure, and Labor & Management pages.
