 Evaluation Criteria
 1. Video Evaluation Criteria (70%)

 The following aspects will be evaluated:

 a. Story Qualities 
     - Story originality
     - Relevance and depth of information
     - Story logic and flow: the narrative/story telling is seamless and compelling, attracting the viewers attention. 
     - Approprateness/contribution of interview subjects to story.
 

 b. Production Technique
     - Overall visual storytelling: the quality of pictures and sound which reflects the craft of directing,
       cinematography, editing and sound design.

 c. Level or degree of difficulty (technical and/or conceptual)

 Interactive Option Criteria (70%)
 The following aspects will be evaluated:

 
a. Story Qualities
     - Story Originality
     - Relevance and depth of information
     - Story logic and flow: the narrative/story telling is compelling, attracting users’ attention.
     - Appropriateness/contribution of interview subjects to story

 b. Production Technique
     - Overall visual storytelling: quality of pictures, audio, video, animation and infographics 
       (if any) and sound design
     - Website structure, interface design and user experience

 c. Level or degree of difficulty (technical and/or conceptual) 
 2. Written Summary (20%)

 The purpose of the report is to provide moderators with insights on and an understanding of the group’s
 educational experience creating their FYP. As such, the content of the written summary should address the
 intellectual or conceptual challenges, how their concept informs stylistic and practical choices and a discussion
 of and reflections on the consequences of the decisions.

 Moderators’ grading may take the following criteria into consideration: (list is not exhaustive and not in order of 
 importance)

 - The story premise (synopsis, title and duration included) 
 - The target audience and distribution method (festival or t.v.) and rational
 - The research of the story (provide bibliography where appropriate)
 - The philosophy and reason for selecting a particular style and structure.
 - Analysis of the story development: how script and storyline developed, problems encountered and how they
   were solved in the script. A discussion of story issues that became evident in the edit and how those were 
   addressed.
 - In the case of an interactive project,  schematic diagram illustrating its structure, story flow and/or workflow.


 The appendices are required to upload to Google docs or Dropbox. The link for the appendices 
 must show 
clearly in the report and it must be able to access by the moderators.
 The content of the appendices for both vidoe and interactive should include:
 
 - The budget statement (provide sources where appropriate)
 - The production schedule
 - The production credit list
 - Releases for actors and/or interview subjects
 - Notice of copyright permission for any non-original material
 - Script/transcript of final product
 - Interview transcripts
 - The shooting script and storyboards if used
 - Location permissions and/or any correspondence pertaining to location permission
 - A press kit which contains the following items: 
 Production Stills:
 Caption information (e.g. who is in the shot) for each image.

 Project Fact Sheet (one-page, single-spaced 12pt):
 The video fact sheet should include the title of the project, TRT, completion date, logline,synopsis, principle
 crew members, contact information. If appropriate, the students can include principle cast members.

 Project Background Sheet (one-page, single-spaced 12pt):
 The project background sheet can include, but is not limited to, information about the inspiration for the project,
 the challenges faced, what's in the future for the movie and the filmmakers. This information sheet needs to
 include several direct quotes from the project members about the movie, in other words, several comments in 
 quotes, attributed to a specific project member.

 Included on both the fact sheet and the movie background sheets, there should be text which reads: 

 "This work was produced as final-year project in the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and 
  Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore." 


 Producer's Warranty:
 WKWSCI provides a sample letter which the producer(s) need to download from the website and sign. The 
 students should include the warranty in their FYP report for moderation and archiving.
 NOTE: A producer's warranty is not a substitute for obtaining copyright permission and licenses. It is merely a
 declaration that the producers are not infringing upon any 3rd party's rights or that all material is original 
 Artwork (Recommended):
 Special artwork is not a requirement for the FYP report. But where it has already been done, students should  
 include it with their press kit.
 3. Oral Presentation (10%)
 Students should be prepared to participate in a Q & A session lasting no longer than 25 minutes. Presentations
 are not required, but if they are given, should contain new or additional information not already covered in the
 video or report. The group should leave ample time to take questions from the panel, which consists of the
 group's supervisor and two moderators. Each member in the group should take turns to speak.

 The following aspects will be examined:
 
 
- Are all members well prepared? 
 - Evidence of critical thinking and evaluation
 - The clarity of the presentation (if appropriate) 
 Moderation Submissions
 Video
 The finished video must be of high technical quality, The finished video must be of high technical quality, e.g.
 the video must be shot on industry-standard cameras, and edited on machines with high-end resolution.

 The preferred minimum duration of the video is 10 minutes : the maximum duration allowed is 24 minutes.

 For evaluation and grading, each group is required to upload their video to VIMEO/YouTube and submit three
 copies of the written report of their project. The link of the video must show clearly in the report and it must be 
 able to access by the moderators. No edting is allowed after the submission deadline.
 Interactive
 The final product will be either a video (submitted via VIMEO/YouTube) or an interactive website.

 The average duration of a user experience should be about 15 minutes (inclusive of any multimedia elements). 
 If the final product comprises primarily of multimedia to be consumed in a linear fashion, the maximum duration
 allowed is 24 minutes.

 For evaluation and grading, each group is required to upload their video to VIMEO/YouTube and submit three
 copies of the written report of their project. The link of the video must show clearly in the report and it must be
 able to access by the moderators. No edting is allowed after the submission deadline. If the project is a website,
 the project should still be submitted on CD-ROM and in addition the group needs to supply a fully functioning 
 URL to the moderators.
 Writing Report


 The students hold the copyright for their projects and the copyright text on the project should clearly indicate
 this (e.g. © student(s) name, 2018). However, the students must also include the NTU logo and a text card in 
 the credits or at the site that reads, 

 "This work was produced as final-year project in the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information,
  Nanyang Technological University, Singapore." 

 NOTE: When used on black background, students are expected to adjust the black level of the logo so that it
 merges with the background. 

 The written report should range from 25-35 pages, minus appendices. Each written report must be presented in
 ring binding with clear, plastic cover and card stock backing.
