Matthew Chew obtained his B.A. in Communication Studies from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information at Nanyang Technological University.
In his third year, the digital disruption allowed him to start a media company with a few friends. Our Grandfather Story, produces and publishes media content which spurred him on to research the new media landscape.
He is currently a Masters by research student under the supervision of Prof Edson C Tandoc Jr. Matthew’s research interests includes media start-ups, new media solutions and fake news. He is excited to use academic research to complement media strategies and provide media solutions for the industry.
Matthew is also the teaching assistant for Basic Media Writing (CS0204), giving guest lectures for feature and multi-media writing. He also assisted in the school’s campus newspaper, The Nanyang Chronicle.
