Assoc Prof Augustine Pang, Nasrath Begam Binte Abul Hassan, Aaron Chee Yang Chong were awarded the Highly Commended Paper for their paper “Negotiating crisis in the social media environment: evolution of crises online, gaining credibility offline” in the Journal of Corporate Communications by the Emerald Literati Network.

Mr Benjamin Ho, Asst Prof Shin Wonsun and Assoc Prof Augustine Pang were awarded the top special topics paper in the Advertising Division at the annual conference of the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication conference (AEJMC) held at San Francisco, California, in August 2015. Their paper is titled, Corporate Advertising and Crises: Understanding the effects of advertisements before and after crises on stakeholders’ perceptions of the organization

The 2015 Fulbright US-ASEAN Visiting Scholar for Singapore has been awarded to Assoc Prof May O. Lwin.

The objective of the Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Initiative is to deepen people-to-people engagement and strengthen educational ties between ASEAN and the United States. Each year, no more than one scholar is selected from Singapore to travel to the U.S. for scholarly and professional research for an extended period on issues that are relevant and useful to member states, and central to the U.S.-ASEAN relationship. The scholarship is designed to pursue research/lecturing focused on a wide range of subjects including climate change, public health, teaching English, maritime security, political security, and wildlife trafficking.
