The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University is widely regarded as one of the top schools in communication and information globally. With a team of talented faculty and research staff, the School undertakes a range of interdisciplinary research that straddles across the fields of communication and information.

The School’s main research strengths lie in two areas, namely, social media studies and information behaviour research. In recent years, the School has been successful in clinching several competitive research grants. The total amount awarded has grown significantly from $652,520 in 2013 to $1,448,908 in 2014 and $3,946,008 in 2015.
Reflective of the significance and richness of the School’s research efforts, our current projects are funded by a variety of organizations. They include government agencies such as the National Research Council, National Medical Research Council, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Media Development Authority, National Heritage Board, Health Promotion Board and Singapore Tote Board, non-profit organizations such as the Singapore Heart Foundation, Singapore Cancer Society and the American Red Cross as well as commercial companies such as Ogilvy Foundation USA, Microsoft Research Asia and Telenor, Norway.
