The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University is widely regarded as one of the top schools in communication and information globally. With a team of talented faculty and research staff, the School undertakes a range of interdisciplinary research that straddles across the fields of communication and information.

The School’s main research strengths lie in two areas, namely, social media studies and information behaviour research. In recent years, the School has been successful in clinching several competitive research grants. The total amount awarded has grown significantly from $2,140,403 in 2014 to $3,513,617 in 2018.

Reflective of the significance and richness of the School’s research efforts, our current projects are funded by a variety of organizations. They include government agencies such as the National Medical Research Council, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, National Heritage Board, National Healthcare Group, National University of Singapore, Workplace Safety and Health Institute, Institute for Adult Learning, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Skoll Foundation, Singapore Heart Foundation, as well as commercial companies such as DSO National Laboratories, Agency for Integrated Care and WhatsApp.
