At the 81st Annual International Conference held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA from Oct 19 – 22, organised by The Association for Business Communication (ABC), Associate Professor Augustine Pang won the much coveted 2016 Kitty O Locker Outstanding Researcher award for his body of work in crisis communication and management. The award honours a scholar who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of knowledge in business communication.
Since the inauguration of the award 26 years ago, Pang is the second scholar based in Asia to have won it. Past winners come from top universities such as MIT, UCLA, Cornell, Michigan, etc.
The winner was selected based on the overall contribution of the researcher’s cumulative publications in refereed journals and scholarly books; significance of the research to the field; its overall quality and heuristic value.
