Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore is hosting the 8th Honours Symposium for Asian PhD students in Communication Research to be held in Hong Kong from 18-19 November 2017. We are cordially inviting students and faculty from City University of Hong Kong, Korea University, Nanyang Technological University, and Yonsei University to participate in the Symposium as paper presenters and/or discussants.

Important Dates:
Paper submission: Friday, 20 October 2017
Notifications: Thursday, 2 November 2017
PhD Symposium: Saturday to Sunday, 18-19 November 2017

Paper Format and Submission:
All submissions will be handled electronically in Word/PDF format. The papers should be no more than 30 pages in length including tables, figures and references. The papers should be written in English and follow the APA style; they must be submitted to this email address:

Deadline: Friday, 20 October 2017, by 11:59pm (Singapore time)

Please note that there will be no extensions to the submission deadline due to the tight timeline. Papers submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed.

Symposium Information
Nanyang Technological University will provide free registration and accommodation for two nights (17-18 November 2017, checkout on 19 November 2017) and host a lunch and dinner for all participants. The participants are expected to bear other expenses while staying in Singapore.

Formal participants from each university may include up to 8 students and 2 faculty advisors. Two students (of either the same team or different teams) will share a double-room whereas each faculty advisor will be provided a single-room during the above period.

Abstract of the papers will be made available via the Symposium website (available after 1 November 2017). Soft copies of the abstracts and the full papers will be provided to the participants during the Symposium. The authors will retain the copyrights of their papers and can submit the papers for formal publications elsewhere.

An independent award committee will decide on the top papers, based on double blind peer review. The participating universities will be informed of the award committee’s decision at a later date.
