Hardware vs. Heartware: What laptop should you get?

by Eva Chow

HARDWARE: THE PC

IF YOU ARE A GAMING FANATIC

You would know for sure that a PC offers more flexibility and choices in the gaming world. If this is going to be your one and only laptop, then get a PC if you’re all about gaming FTW!

IF COST IS AN IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION

The PC world offers many alternatives for you to choose from. You might even find one that best suits your needs at a price that is lower than that of a Mac!

IF YOU PREFER FREEDOM OVER SAFETY

Windows or Linux offers more freedom in software developing. Further, if you like customising, a PC gives you the room to do so. A Mac just has it all set for you from the start.

HARDWARE: THE MAC

IF YOU ARE AN ARTSY FARTSY

The artsy fartsies are people who value design a lot. A Mac will tug at your heart’s strings with it’s sleek and modern look.

IF COST IS NOT A PROBLEM

Good things come with a price, and we all know that. A Mac can cost between $1,500 $3,300 depending on the model you are getting.

IF YOU PREFER SAFETY OVER FREEDOM

A Mac’s most suitable for you because it is less prone to virus attacks and malware. However, it offers less freedom when it comes to techy things like software development.

SAVING Tips:

Bling up your laptop with designer stickers, or you can always print your own at any printing shop.

Check out the annual PC show at NTU (midAugust) to get great offers! Don’t rush. You have plenty of time to decide.
